Rare and collectible table lamp designed by Czech designer Helena Frantová for Okolo in 1953. It's called "Chinese" because of its circular shade which resembles a traditional Chinese hat. The parchment from which the lampshade is made, as well as the cut string used to sew the paper to the edging hoop, also refers to China. The entire modernistically shaped structure of the lamp body is made of metal with a brass surface. Lamp is in exceptionally good condition, minimal patina due to its age. The parchment lampshade on these lamps rarely stays in such a nice condition, due to the sensitive material. Was completely restored and rewired. Takes one E14 screw size bulb. Collector's item!
